It seems a long way from the Mid Wales, but for the last 21 seasons Val d'Isère has been home for Rupert Tildesley. Qualified to the highest level in both the British and French systems, Rupert is one of the most experienced top level ski coaches in the world.

He is a BASI Trainer and member of the British Demonstration ski Team and has represented Great Britain at the International Ski Instructors Congress (Interski) in Switzerland 2003, Korea 2007, Austria 2011 and Argentina 2015. Read more...

Mark is at the pinnacle of ski instruction. He trains, assesses and examines Ski instructors through all levels of Instructor qualification. This uniquely places him at the cutting edge of what is happening in Ski Coaching globally.

He is a BASI Trainer and member of the British Demonstration ski Team and represented the UK at the International Ski Instructors Congress in Norway in 1999 and Switzerland in January 2003. Read more...

Now one of the world's top ski coaches, Dave's introduction to skiing was at the age of eleven when a pair of skis bought from the local garage were strapped to his boots and he shot down the Derbyshire hills to the rear of his house. Rupert Goldring's skiing career began in earnest at the age of three, donning strap-on skis to descend a modest slope in his parents' garden in Rutland. Family ski holidays in Europe spawned an obsession with mountains generally and skiing specifically. Co-founder of Alliance Snowboarding Ltd (2006) and now founder of Fresh Snowboarding was born and bred on the beautiful beaches of Australia’s Sunshine Coast. Her affinity for the European mountains began on a one week holiday to the French Alps in 1994. Completing 17 full winters (or 6.5 years in total) playing on her snowboard, Renelle is now among the worlds leading coaches. Having attained the highest level Snowboard Instructor qualifications, Renelle is the only woman ever invited to the role of BASI Trainer (British Association of Snowsports Instructors). Renelle has attained Level 4 ISTD and has over 14 years coaching experience.

When the snow melts, Renelle can be found on the west coast of France near Hossegor, surfing one of the world’s ultimate beach breaks.

Before I started snowboarding I was obsessed with mogul skiing. I entered the European mogul challenge one year and won an event. I think Id reached a level that I thought was my limit and therefore I started to become bored with it. Also, I felt skiing was way too structured and that snowboarding had a much more open view on how the mountain could be ridden. Also the prospect of so much to learn with a snowboard excited me incredibly.

  • Winner of BBC's "Superstars" competition
  • Member of British Demonstration Ski Team

Alain Baxter is Britain's most successful ever skier. He raced on the World Cup for 16 years reaching number 11 in the World. In 2002, he won a bronze medal in the slalom at the Olympic Games in Salt Lake City. In one of sport's most famous cases of injustice, he was disqualified a few days later and despite winning an appeal against the decision to ban him from competition, the medal was never returned. He also won BBC's Superstars competition in 2004, fending off the sporting talents off the likes of cyclist Bradley Wiggins, rowing's Sir Steve Redgrave and swimming's Mark Foster.

Renowned as one of the UK’s top ski teachers, Amanda is an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and inspiring ski instructor and an amazing skier to boot. She grew up skiing with the Kandahar Ski Club and was a member of the British Alpine ski team, competing in international races throughout the world, winning a cabinet full of British Championship titles and achieving a best senior world ranking of 56.

Chemmy Alcott is a 4 Time Winter Olympian who represented Team GB throughout a 20 year sporting career reaching a high of 8th in the world. She became the first and only British ski racer to win a run in World Cup.

Since retiring from alpine skiing after Sochi in 2014, she has spent her time challenging herself partaking in the Worlds Toughest Ski Race in Greenland in March 2015, 100 mile road race Ride London and other sporting endeavors whilst being a regular presenter of BBC’s Ski Sunday TV Show and commentating on Eurosport.

At ICE we are extremely privileged to have Chemmy as part of our coaching team. she is a specialist race coach and all those involved on the 4, 5 and 10 week courses will benefit from Chemmy's expertise in giant slalom. This often provides a highlight to the course as students chat freely with Chemmy about her time as a racer as they get better at giant slalom. Read more...

Lynn represented Great Britain on the International race circuit from an early age as a member of the British Children's, Youth and then Senior Ski Teams. During this time, she won 17 British Champion titles and achieved many international podiums. After retiring as a racer, Lynn spent 4 years as the Head Coach of the British Ski Academy, she also coached the British Children's team, and was awarded the UKCP Children's coach of the year in 2011.
