Before you can finish the BASI Level 1 qualification, you must complete 35 hours of experience in a ski school. This can be done by shadowing an instructor in an artificial or mountain environment.
Please note that these 35 hours are in addition to the 35 hours required before attending the Level 2 Course. Therefore there are 70 hours required between both Level 1 and 2.
If you choose to do either the 6 week Gap Course (ski only) or 10 Week Gap Course, these hours are included as part of the course.
Teaching/Snowsport School experience may include any of the following:
Students should provide a breakdown in writing of what they have covered during their Snowsport School experience, this should be on headed Snowsport School paper and be signed by the Snowsport School supervisor.
These hours can be covered in a mountain ski school or an artificial slope.
