SNOW SNOW SNOW... and some more!

Biggest storm in many years brings snow and disruption to The Alps.
Val d'Isere has closed lifts on 4th Jan due to fresh west-northwesterly winds Haute Tarentaise and Haute Maurienne with gusts reaching 95 km/h. Although snow has fallen it is mainly the wind preventing lifts to open. The result is that it’s not just dangerous on the slopes with an unstable snow-pack, but in resort there is danger from snow falling from roofs - and many resorts are urging skiers to stay indoors today.
Forecast for 5th January from valdinet - Cloudy weather clearing up at times ; humid, with rain early in the day. Variable winds, light at most places. Haute Tarentaise and Haute Maurienne : gusts reaching 55 km/h, at daybreak.
So take care everyone over the next couple of days and look forward to skiing in that powder when the wind relents.
