This is a 5 day on snow mountain safety course is a BASI Level 3 ISIA qualification module. The course includes 3 days of training followed by 2 days of assessment.
The objective of the course is to prepare participants to lead parties off piste within the confines of the ski boundary. The training terrain will be non-glaciated with no planned use of ropes, axes, or crampons.
The course outcomes include enhancing your avalanche awareness with a focus on hazard identification and emergency procedures, increasing your proficiency in transceiver search techniques, and developing your practical experience in guiding a group off piste. You will also improve your skills in map reading, navigation, and route selection, as well as your off-piste technique, skiing, and touring abilities.

Skiing Standard
To attend this course, you must hold a current BASI Level 2 qualification or have an approved equivalence from another system.
